After 42 years of serving as a Lutheran teacher at the elementary, secondary, and college levels, Joel Schuldheisz followed God’s calling to become a Pastor. God opened doors to enter the Specific Ministry Program, primarily an on-line program offered through Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. Upon completion of his internship (vicarage) and coursework, Good Shepherd called Joel Schuldheisz to be their Pastor in December 2022.

Pastor Schuldheisz considers it an honor and privilege to share God’s Word and Sacraments with “the flock” at Good Shepherd and join them in their journey of serving and honoring God while growing in their faith and seeking opportunities to serve those in need. Mary Schuldheisz, Joel’s wife of 46 years, serves as a Pre-School administrator at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Federal Way, WA; they have two married children and four grandchildren who live in the South Puget Sound area.

Jeff is a native of the Northwest, born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He earned his B.A in Education from Concordia University in Portland (Minor in Theology, Youth Ministry Emphasis), graduating as a Director of Christian Education (DCE) in 1980.

Over his 45+ year Ministry career Jeff has served Congregations in Pembroke, Ontario, (St. John’s), Portland, Oregon (Prince of Peace), and West Seattle, Washington (Hope). Jeff also serves as the Commissioned Minister on the Board of Directors for the NOW District, LCMS, as well as on several other District Committees and Commissions.

Jeff and wife Becky have four grown children and ten grandchildren, all of whom live in the greater Puget Sound area.
Jeff’s personal Mission Statement is to “Empower Others for Fearless Ministry”, which means using his gifts to encourage, equip, enable, and empower others to use the gifts God has given them to build up His Kingdom and bring people into a personal relationship with Jesus. His favorite Bible Verse is Colossians 3:12-17 (Check it out!)

My Christian faith guides my work, and I approach each responsibility with excellence, integrity, and humility. I grew up in Wisconsin on a rural farm with partaking in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). From there, I joined the United States Airforce and now a Military Veteran with three overseas deployment tours supporting Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.  Then followed by 20 years of experience in Talent Acquisition and Human Resources in large corporate environments

We are also blessed that our son attends Concordia Christian Academy, where our family’s faith continues to grow.

Bonnie Huset has been our director since the opening of the preschool in 2005. Over the years she has taught the 3’s, 4’s, and the Jr. Kindergarten classes. Currently she teaches the Jr. K. class. Bonnie has a bachelor’s degree in business and an early childhood education AA degree.

Bonnie, and her husband Tony, have been married for 33 years and have 3 grown children. Her interests include her family, volleyball, reading, and taking walks. Bonnie also enjoys volunteering at her home church.

Diana Tremain is our Assistant Director and Teacher for our 2.5-4 yr. old classes. Before coming to Little Lambs Diana ran her own preschool in California for 13 years. She was also a homeschool mom, music teacher, and had an in-home childcare business.

Diana has been married to her husband Lloyd for 35 years. She has 5 children and 2 grandchildren. When she is not teaching preschool Diana enjoys leading worship at her church, reading, cooking, and walking her dogs.
